Artist Biography

Marilee Salvator, a printmaker and installation artist hailing from Kentucky, holds a BFA in Printmaking from Illinois State University and an MFA in Printmaking from the University of New Mexico. Her artistic journey spans across continents, with her works being shown in over 140 group exhibitions in North America, South Korea, China, Japan, Portugal, Serbia, Ireland, Scotland, Poland, Italy, New Zealand, and Romania. Additionally, she has presented over 30 solo exhibitions throughout North America.

 Her artistic work is included in more than 30 public art collections, including prestigious institutions such as the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, MD, the Musculoskeletal Institute at Emory Healthcare in Brookhaven, GA, JCI University in Jingdezhen, China, and the Sakami Art Museum in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Salvator's expertise has led her to lecture and serve as a visiting artist at numerous universities and art centers across North America.

 Salvator's artistic endeavors have been further enriched by her residencies at esteemed institutions such as Atelier Silex in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, the Sanbao Ceramic Institute in Jingdezhen, China, the RAIR Foundation’s Historic Berrendo Studios in Roswell, NM, the Remarque Print Workshop in Albuquerque, NM, WOWArtSci in Taos, NM, and the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. Notable grants received include those from South Arts and the Great Meadows Foundation.

 Her art has been recognized in publications like New American Paintings and on the cover of the medical textbook "Regulating Creation," published by the University of Toronto Press. Currently residing in Bowling Green, KY, Salvator shares her home with her two cherished furry companions, Petunia and Juniper, while also serving as an Associate Professor of Printmaking at Western Kentucky University.
