Recent Works

Recent Works is a solo exhibition in the printmaking area at University of Colorado at Boulder. Special thanks to Melanie Yazzie and Alanna Austin for organizing and hosting the exhibition and my visit to campus. Also special thank you to the printmaking students who helped me install the exhibit.

I’ve recently begun work based on Bryozoans with the help of scientists Dr. Thomas Trott and Dr. Matthew Dick. Trott and Dick have graciously shared their image databases and I am digitally manipulating bryozoan colonies, separating individual zooids into modules and using them to visually growing new colonies. These images are used to develop photo intaglio plates that are printed as multiples. Conceptually, this act speaks of mans’ need to manipulate the natural world. This imagery is providing me with a fresh visual language that lends itself to my formal exploration of repetition, pattern, deeply hidden beauty, destruction and exponential growth.
